Plain Simple

A combination of heavy mediums and palate knife bring to life a graphic depiction of rural western Canada.


After completing a vast amount of very intricate stencils, I wanted to go back to a more painterly style. However, I still wanted a stencil of some description involved.


With the idea of doing something more painterly, I decided to try a more basic form of stencil. Therefore, the silhouette.


These two combined styles pushed the stencil itself to the back of the viewers mind and allowed the prairie landscape to take over.
